10-5-22 THOUGHTS
We share a few collected passages this morning that focus our attention on THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST! Col 1:19 below says “it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him”. The “face of Christ” shows us the “glory of God”! From GOD, His children are to “LEARN WHAT IS PLEASING TO THE LORD”! We are to bear “the fruit of light”! When we read God’s word, we cannot lose THE CHURCH in the design. It is the bride of Christ, “the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”
2Cor 4:6 For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
Eph 5:8-10 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light 9 (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), 10 trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Paul prayed that “the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling” for the Church at Ephesus.
Col 1:15-19 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,
Eph 1:17-23 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
2Cor 11:2 For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.
Eph 5:23-26 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. 24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
My Prayer:
O Lord, may we ever submit to the beauty of your word, as to the light shining in the darkness. In the name of our Lord Jesus who saves us, Amen.
